If I see my mom hamster start eating her babies do I take the others out? And what would I do with them? Would I feed them myself? Or give them to another mom hamster?
Answer
If the babies are very young (less than 2 weeks old) then they NEED a mothers attention in order to survive, you will not be able to feed them and take care of them. If they are older than 2 weeks, then there is a chance you can help them survive. Hamsters do not need a mothers attention as long as other animals do. There is a chance that you can give young babies to another mother to take care of them, but she might also attack the babies.
There may be something wrong with the babies and the mothers instincts are telling her to get rid of the baby. Also, she may have had too many babies that she cannot take care of herself. One of my hamsters had 8 babies at one time and I noticed that 3 had gone missing. The remaining 5 she had were very strong and healthy hamsters. Sometimes an animals instincts are more correct than anything else.

Baby Rat Care? 5-6 weeks old.?

I decided to get baby rats from a breeder they will be ready in two to three weeks. When I bring them home how do I care for them?

I'm glad you were able to find a breeder in your last question you said you couldn't. Sadly the pics didn't work for me at all. Make sure they stay warm have a higher protein diet while young then switch it. Also interaction is a big thing make a best friend, The baby rat I adopted was so small being a double rex I kept her an a small cage so she couldn't get out or hurt herself and stay warm as my big cage was way too big for her. Like someone else said make sure the bars in ur cage if it has them are under 1/2 in. I kept mine in small cage and played with her for hrs at a young age they love to wrestle mine did was soo cute and they snuggle I interacted with mine a lot because i was shocked how small and knew i couldn't put her with the larger ones. They like to be chased w your hand like a kid would do and be played back with it really is a great stage to enjoy them and showing them love for the long run. Being mine was alone till being big enough I kept her cage insulated. They grow so fast after the 1st two weeks of getting them as spunky little kids. Good luck :)
