What breast pump is best for occasional use?

MAL

Im expecting in December and cant decide on a good breast pump. I will only pump when going out or when someone else will be feeding the baby. I dont want to spend too much money on something i will only use occasionally. What brand is good and is manual or electric easier?

Answer
electric is definitely easier. if it's only for occasional use, you could just get a single pump rather than a double to save you some money. i talked to a lactation consultant before buying one and she said to be careful because some brands can hurt your nipples. but she said medela is good and philips avent is good. i got an electric single philips avent and it's great.

Is Playtex BPA Free Embrace Double Electric Breast Pump any good?

I'm looking for a new breast pump. This one is $199 at Babies R Us, so it's pricey, and I want to make sure I get a good one if I pay that much! Have any of you got any experiance with this particular pump, or a playtex brand? How are they? And does anyone maybe know if there is a place I can buy it for cheaper, but new, not used? Thank you so much!

Answer
I personally wouldnt buy one that cost that much i dont really see the point ,I use a manual one for my sons and will be doing the same with my twins when they are born i use the avent one its about $60 and i like the manual because of how sore i was i found it way easier ,But if you want a auto one you can get one that isnt as costly because this is your first and you may not be able to feed some women cant and have no milk there are other reasons and factors so just buy a cheaper one save the bucks for other things thats my personal opinion
