My girlfriend and I had a baby last month (August) Our child is now 1 month old and hes been doing good. We thought about having an adoption ever since conception but, we always changed our mind about it.
I know the situation at hand is alright for him, but I know he can have better. I have not met my career goals, have not completed my education and I plan on going to college and serve some time in the marines. I want to best thing for my child, which is a boy, hazel eyes, and very cute.
His mother knows we still have a lot to do before we can really raise a kid on our own... I never imagined to have a baby so soon, I wanted us to be prepared and in our late 20s.
We're interested in looking to place our child for adoption as soon as possible so that he may get the best family for him early on.
If anyone knows where would be the best place to do this in Milwaukee, WI and perhaps give some information about (Open Adoption)?
People say open adoption isn't really all it's cracked up to be; is this true?
Yours truly,
Young father.

Please dont give up ur baby,u say u have both concidered it in the past then changed ur mind so there is doubt about it being the right thing to do but if u go ahead there is no going back.U say u r doing ok for now so continue what u r doing all he needs for now is love and care, food and a roof over his head,u can still do the things u want to do they might just take a little longer and have some compromises along the way. i think u wld both miss him terribly if u gave him up now that he's a month old and he will only get more adorable and show u so much love. Adopted children have a lot of issues when they r older i know this from experience (i'm not saying they all do) and often the homes they r put into r worse than the ones they came from this is something u will have no control over and as for open adoption they very rarely stay open. My partner and i have a son who we didnt plan and we worried about how we wld cope...things aint ideal but he's taken care of we love him he's fed well and clothes and we plan to take it in turn to go bk to college and get the careers we want if anything having him makes us even more determined to do it. Please please dont do it ur baby needs his real mother and father, good luck x

Is there a website to look for infant care/mom care for a month? Also is it really required or can I manage on my own?
Answer
I really think you can do it by yourself. Babies mostly eat and sleep the first few months. Just go with the flow. Sleep when the baby sleeps. Naps are good. Don't worry about house work. Use your time to love your baby. Use paper plates if you want, carry out food. You'll find if you take it easy, you'll be fine.
