I have two baby zebra finches that are about a week old. The mom is acting aggressive against the dad.I just want to know if i can remove the dad to another cage and keep the mom with the baby's. Will the baby's die if i remove the dad

You can remove the dad and put him in another cage.. The babies won't die, just make sure the mom is still taking care of them.

Ok so I have about 4 baby zebra finches that are 11 days old. I was just wondering when I could hold the babies because I heard the parents might not feed them or they will toss them out of the nest because they think its not safe for the babies anymore or like they don't think its their babies. I read many articles about people taming their zebra finches since they held them and fed them from their hands since they were babies and now they have tame zebra finches. How can i have tame zebra finches without the parents getting upset and killing them? I don't really have any time to feed and take care of 4 babies if that did end up happening. It sounds like a lot of work to feed them like every hour and i am afraid that i would do something wrong and they would die. There was another article i read about this guy with the same dilemma (that he wanted to tame the babies but was worried about what the parents would do.) and people told him to wait until they are a month to handle them. Is that too late? Ok so here are my questions.
1. How old do they have to be until i can handle them so the parents wont abandon them.
2. How should i handle them? (Picking them up and feeding them seeds? Letting them sit on my finger? Any other things i should know?)
More info. is that they are very healthy. I give the parents store bought finch food, lettuce, broccoli and hard boiled eggs and lots more (like fruits etc.) I hung a cuttle bone in there that they always chew on and i change their food and water daily! Their cage is always clean. They have a medium sized cage. (Don't know if any of this info helps.) One last thing. Genders will be separated into another cage when old enough so they don't mate together (ew.) So you guys don't have to flame me about how theres not enough room for 6 zebra finches. We already have this taken care of. And the cages will be hung up on a hook right next to each other so yeah.
Oh yeah i forgot to mention the parents temper. The parents of the babies are kind of skittish and flutter away when you bring food because their previous owner left them right next to the sink in their cage! They were probably always startled by dishes and noise etc. They just started to get used to us and don't fly away in the cage to much anymore but are still a little bit cautious and stay far from your hand. We use soft voices when feeding and watering and open the cage doors slowly and barely ever look at the babies. (If any of this helps lol)

Check their crops. If their necks have a yellow or greenish bulge in them, that means that the parents are feeding them. If their crops are empty, come back in like 1/2 hr to inspect. If they are still empty, be concerned. Come back in 1/2 hour ... if it looks like they are going an hour or more with no food, you might consider intervening but call your avian vet.

One sign that they are not being fed properly, is failure to grow and failure to thrive. I did a google search for you. Compare your birds, to what the birds in the images and videos look like. If it is comparable, they are feeding their young, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
