I plan on occasionally pumping...what do you think is the best pump to buy?

Madela,it comes in an easy access backpack for traveling and has a very reliable motor at 250-300 dollars it is definitely the most bang for your buck and very convenient,By the way I dont know what kind of insurance you have but check to see if you have medical equipment coverage,if you do have your doc write a prescription and you get a 300 dollar pump for free.

I'm looking for a new breast pump, since apparently the one I have is crap. ha-ha I heard this is a really good manual pump but wonder if its worth it? I really CANNOT afford a 200$ pump at the moment. Any decent electric pumps, priced reasonably?

i would say that the pump is descent; however, if you plan on using it everyday for more then 3 feedings (away at work) i think it will become a pain because it is a manual pump. the swing pump is okay but once again it is only meant for once in a while and it is noise.
I used the Medela Pump in style advance and yes it was over 200.
however, i had my doctor write me a prescription for a breast pump when i was just about to deliver and then that week i took it to a DME (durable Medical equipment) store. The one that i used was in a hospital that sold Medela products and got the PUMP for free.
first check with your insurance and see if you have DME coverage. DME coverage is for things like walkers, chairs, scooters etc. . .
if you do have DME coverage then asked if breast pumps are included when you have a script from the doctor.
Then just go to the doctor and say that you need a prescription for your pump for the insurance.
or if you are on WIC; WIC will give you one for free as well.
