What you do will depend on how old the kittens are. Are you certain the mother is not there? She might be around, but the problem is that the babies still need attention. Without proper handling, they will be shy little kitties and difficult to rehome. If they are running around and eating solid food, you can take them in and give them lots of love. If they are smaller, you will need to bottlefeed them with formula from the store. You can make the hole in the nipple a little larger so the formula comes out a little easier depending on their ability to nurse. Even if they are 5 weeks or older, they will benifit from bottlefeeding, especially if they are not being particularly friendly. Once you begin bottlefeeding, they bond with you and forget that they are afraid, after a few days. You might need to wrap the little ones in a small towel while feeding to keep their little paws quiet. Do not give regular milk or they will get diahhrea and that is very hard to treat. Watch for mom. If the mother is there, you might be able to take everyone inside, if she is not wild. Handling is the very best thing for these kittens to give them the best opportunity to be good pets. After you have handled, bottlefed and such, you can offer them as pets on www.craigslist.com for about $35 to be sure they are safe. Or you can contact a rescue league by going to your local Petco or Petsmart on the weekends when the leagues go to show their animals. How can i take care of 4 little baby mice?

My neighbor and i found 5 little baby mice two days ago sadly one of them died last night...But we still have 4 of them! Since her mom wouldnt let her keep them i was their last hope! Thankfuly i was allowed to keep them in my house where they are now sleeping! I've done a lot of research on the internet and hear a lot of the same things but im just a teenager and cant get all the proper tools and food that they need! and my mom wont pay for anything cause she thinks they are gonna die anyway! but if i get the right stuff they might not! I need help on figuring out how to fed them and take care of them! I currently am feeding them soy milk since cow milk is bad for them and i dont have a dropper so im using a straw or just putting little dabs of milk in my palm and letting them lick it up! I have been takeing care of them properly and keeping them warm and hydrated and i dont know what else i could do! so could you please help me?!?!

I think you are doing a good job already. I've never had pet rats but like all animals, they learn how to take care of themselves pretty quick, so keep up what you are doing and maybe you should ask your mom for some advice. After all, they are babies too and she has to be considerate of babies. :)
