My 9 month old baby had a 103 fever yesterday......?

lissette

I called the Doc and she told me to give him Motrin, it went away, but now he has a stuffy nose and his front teeth are bothering him, Is he teeting or is he coming down with a cold? I am worried bc he is Very irritabla and this would be his 6 cold in the past 9 months!!!!

Answer
that happens to my son too, once he gets sick one time he just keeps on getting sick over and over. Till he goes a long time without getting sick and it all starts over again. And his colds last what seams like forever, like 2 weeks, the kiddies just dont have a great immune system like we adults do. They dont have it built up yet. Does baby go to day care? That could be a reason why cus of the other kids getting sick an passing it on. You know what i started to do i know it may seem kinda germafobic to some but i take antibacterial wipes with me when we go to stores cus you never know if their was a sick kid sitting in the cart before you and chewed on it or sneezed on it and then your child touches it or even chews on it. I think he seriously got sick that way before cus i always keep him dressed right when we go out always has his hood on when its cold. try some vicks vapor rub for babies i heard it works good. havent tried yet cus son hasnt been to sick lately.

9 month old baby watching TV?

trgz

My friend allows her 9 mos old daughter watch tv. Like cartoons and kids movies. Like 2-3+ hrs a day... I don't let my son watch Tv and he's about the exact same age so I was wondering is this hindering her brain development? Should I tell her it isn't healthy? Or is it fine?

Answer
i have a 9 month old and he could care less about tv! lol. maybe for a couple minutes hell watch it but he is more interested in climbing up on things, crawling, getting my attention, going for walks, going shopping and playing with his toys...i know this is a good thing since hes being challenged and using his mind, but sometimes a break would be nice so i can get things done. i guess thats what naps are for:)

his cousin who is 6 weeks younger loves tv.
2-3 hours is a long time to be watching tv throughout the day, even for an adult. if shes the type of person who can handle you telling her that, yes it would help. if not, im sure you can drop hints so she wont feel bad or get defensive.
